1.1 What is ESDTALK?
ESDTALK is an Internet distribution list located on the SEMATECH server in Austin, TX.
Network E-mail list name: ESDTALK@sematech.org
Distribution list: Bob@companya.com Jill@companyb.com Rob@toolsupplier.com
When an E-mail is sent to the ESDTALK E-mail address, like "ESDTALK@sematech.org," the server redistributes it to each person on the distribution list. In the example above, Bob, Jill and Rob would receive a copy of the message. When someone receives a list message, the header will show the sender's and the ESDTALK list addresses in the header. The recipient can respond to the individual sender and/or the entire ESDTALK list.
1.2 How do I send a message to the ESDTALK list?
To send a message to the ESDTALK list, use the appropriate E-mail address: ESDTALK@SEMATECH.ORG. You must be subscribed to the list before it will accept your message (see section 1.5 below).
Use the subject line format outlined in section 1.4.1. Once you have sent the E-mail to the list all of those subscribed to the list will automatically receive a copy of your message from the SEMATECH server.
1.3 How do I reply to an ESDTALK message?
Please reply to a message by addressing the message to both the originator and the ESDTALK list. This will keep all Member Companies current on the issue and also document the message transactions in the ESDTALK data base for future reference. When responding in this way the originator may receive two copies of the response. If the reply message content is sensitive and is not appropriate for general distribution then please respond only to the originator.
1.4 What are the ESDTALK user guidelines?
