Oct  07, 2009 - 3-4pm - UT Supercomputer TourTour of Texas Advanced Computing Center, J.J. Pickle Research Campus, Austin, TX 78726.   Here is a list of the biggest computers in the world. Austin's is called the Ranger - SunBlade x6420, Opteron QC 2.3 Ghz, Infiniband - it was rated as number 6 in the Top10 list  http://www.top500.org/   We had a very interesting tour of the UT Texas Advanced Computing Center.  We got to go inside and walk through the rows of processors and cooling towers.  Pretty amazing to see that many blade processors in one place.  We also got a taste of the visualization part of the computer processing.  A very informative experience.
